Whole food sample days and practical habits for midlife adults. Coaching, not a prescription.
This is a coaching article, not a prescription. If you use a GLP class medication, your clinician owns dose, labs, and what is safe for you. I coach food, training, and habits that have to work in a real week.
A 2025 joint advisory from major nutrition and obesity groups is clear: nutrition and lifestyle still matter on GLP class therapy. Priorities that show up again and again:
Protein targets during active weight loss are commonly discussed in the ballpark of about 1.2 to 1.6 grams per kilogram per day, with practical floors like at least 60 grams a day in some care summaries. Spreading protein across three or four eating times helps when appetite is low. Very high prolonged intakes around 2 grams per kilogram per day and above are flagged for caution. Kidney disease and other conditions can override any general number.
The calorie tiers (1800 / 2200 / 2500) are design choices for this hub, not a doctor ordered menu.
Protein in the samples is locked at about 0.7 grams per pound of an example goal body weight. That sits near the common guideline band. Fat sits near about 25% of calories because lower fat is often easier on a slowed stomach. Carbohydrate fills the rest. That is not a fixed 30 / 45 / 25 split, and it is not a claim that any one macro ratio is required GLP therapy.
Pushing toward 1.0 grams of protein per pound can approach the high intake caution zone. If you train hard, talk with your clinician before you live at the top of that range.
Three meals plus a snack. No fasted diet templates here. Structured eating is the product rule because it makes protein targets and stomach comfort easier for most people in this boat. That is not the same as saying fasting is medically forbidden for every person on every medication.
GLP class meds can slow emptying. Smaller plates, slower pace, and stopping at comfortable fullness are standard tactics. When you feel rough, lower fat and blander swaps often land better. Sip fluids. Do not chug.
If you can train, keep some strength work in the week. Food protects the work. The work protects the muscle. Neither replaces medical care.
Below: 1800, 2200, and 2500 calorie examples. Whole foods. Easy prep. Batch friendly where it counts. Each plan has a meal card graphic and a food swaps panel for nausea days and preference.
